Aryna Sabalenka, the Belarusian tennis player, recently had an unforgettable encounter with soccer legend David Beckham in Miami.
The two met during Sabalenka’s visit to Miami before the WTA Finals in Cancun, Mexico. Sabalenka shared a picture of the two on her Instagram account, captioning it “Low Key Miami Morning @davidbeckham”.
Beckham responded to her post, writing “So lovely to meet you @sabalenka_aryna”.
Sabalenka has had a brilliant season this year, winning three titles including the Australian Open, Adelaide International, and Madrid Open.
She has consistently advanced to the semifinals or beyond in all four Grand Slams and took over the World No. 1 ranking from Iga Swiatek last month.
After securing a runner-up position at the 2023 US Open, Sabalenka participated in the China Open where she managed to reach the quarterfinals but unfortunately faced a straight sets defeat against Elena Rybakina 7-5, 6-2.
Beckham is a former English professional footballer who played for Manchester United, Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, and Paris Saint-Germain during his illustrious career.
He is also known for his fashion sense and has been featured in several magazines for his style. Beckham is currently co-owner of Inter Miami CF, a Major League Soccer team based in Miami.
The meeting between Sabalenka and Beckham was a delightful moment for both sports enthusiasts and fans of both celebrities. It’s not every day that one gets to meet their idols.
